POLICIES

Our mission is to provide students with a maximum level of construction safety instruction through expertise in training, accident prevention, employer requirements, the laws that govern construction activities and also to enrich students, clients, and the communities with a safer and more healthful work environment.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

It is the policy of CSC Training Academy to uphold a safe working and learning environment free of all forms of discrimination. CSC Training Academy does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, luring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of training and technical services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients’ volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and students. Developers/Planners and Instructors are made aware of this policy and acknowledge it in the CSC Training Academy Instructor Agreement.

 

INSTRUCTOR'S PROPRIETARY INTEREST POLICY

It is the policy of CSC Training Academy to disclose that the Instructor does/does not have proprietary interests in in any product, instruments, devices, or materials in the program.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS POLICY

It is the policy of CSC Training Academy that intellectual and legal property rights for all material used in its learning event to be disclosed by the Provider/Instructor.

VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

Valid photo identification is required of students to present at start of each course (for multiple day courses – IDs will only be collected on the first session of training). Accepted forms of ID include: driver’s license, state ID, passport Green Card.  Student must be able to communicate with the instructor in the language the course is held in (English or Spanish). 

NOTICE STUDENT COMMUNICATION POLICY

This school has authorized OSHA 500 trainers. 100% attendance for the course and active participation in learning activities including hands-on exercises and the end exams are required. Students who miss time from any individual session must reschedule and attend the full training course. Students must receive a minimum passing score of 70% on the multiple-choice exam to pass the class and receive the course completion certificate and verification letter. Students are allotted 1 hour to complete the exam, which is not open book.

Students who do not pass the end-of-course test will be extended a third opportunity to re-take the exam. It is the students’ responsibility to contact CSC Training Academy to schedule their retake exam within one week of the original class date.  Students who do not successfully pass the exam a third time will have the option of registering for another construction training course at a reduced price of 50% of the original course fee.  Students must contact CSC Training Academy to schedule and pay for the retake class within 6 months following the original class date. After 6 months, students will be required to pay the full course fee.

Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate from CSC Training Academy and within 30 days of successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Industry wallet card.  If a student chooses for the card to be sent CSC Academy is not responsible if the card gets lost in the mail.

Support, grievance and/or questions pertaining to the subject matter, quality assurance, and the learning environment can be directed to the Chief Education Officer at cscllc.adiaz@gmail.com , by calling (347)200-8888 or mailed to the facility address; 111 Morris Avenue, Bronx NY 10456, attention Chief Education Officer.

Students must address their concerns about this school or any of its educational programs by emailing a formal letter to the above email address or in writing to the facility address. 

Students dissatisfied with this school’s response to their complaint or who are not able to file a complaint with the school, can file a formal complaint with CSC Training Academy, as well as with other relevant agencies or accreditation institutes, if applicable.

 

COMPLETION/ REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATE AND CARD

A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of course which is valid for 90 days. Upon completion of the course students will receive a certificate from CSC Academy and will receive an OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Industry wallet card 90 calendar days of the
end of the class. 

We suggest you maintain a copy for your records.  If this card is lost or stolen you will need to purchase a replacement card at an additional $75.  Please contact us via email at cscllc.adiaz@gmail.com for a request.

 

REFUND POLICY

Full refund is available if you notify us at cscllc.adiaz@gmail.com within 7 days of the start of the class that you will not be able to attend due to health or extenuating circumstances.  There will be no refunds for anyone that cancels within 7 days from the beginning of the course or cannot attend the course after it has begun.  We will provide make up hours to make up any missed material at an additional fee if you would still like to get certified as per OSHA guidelines.   

 

RECORDS RELEASE AND PRIVACY POLICY

It is the policy of CSC Training Academy to maintain current and complete learner records that include attendance information, satisfactory completion of all CEU approved programs and are provided to the learner upon request and contain information on all CSC Training Academy CEU events. In addition, it is an essential element of the CEU program to maintain learner privacy.

CSC Training Academy is committed to keeping records of the learners who take classes at CSC Training Academy safe and secured. The records include transcript, attendance, quizzes, course the learners took, evaluation forms, personal contact information of the learners, and course registration forms.  All records are maintained secure and learners’ information is not used for marketing, solicitation purposes or sold to a third party.

If a student wants to request for a transcript, follow the process listed below:

The student must download, completely fill out and email the CEU/TRANSCRIPT REQUEST FORM to the Chief Education Officer at cscllc.adiaz@gmail.com.
The Chief Education officer must follow a verification process through a series of questions:

1. Their Name.

2. The address that was used for the course registration.

3. The course they took.

4. The phone number or email address that was used during the course registration.

Within 7 business days the transcript is sent to the learners by the Chief Education Officer after verification of their identity in the method they choose.

1. Mail the record to them.

2. A PDF version of the record through their email.

3. Or they can pick it up at the school.

Materials to bring

Telephones are to be turned off or put on silent/vibrate mode upon entry to classroom. Students are allowed to step outside of classroom to designated area(s) during the class for emergency use only. Otherwise, all calls are to be made during approved break time(s) only.

 

Students

Who are being disrespectful, inattentive, disruptive or are caught sleeping during training will be removed from the premises and will not be eligible for a refund. It will be the responsibility of the student to contact the CSC Training Academy Training Department to register for another scheduled event.

 

ATTENDANCE AND ASSESSMENT POLICY

It is the policy of CSC Training Academy that each learner must successfully complete the assessment and attendance requirements in order to be awarded CEUs for a learning event.

1. The learner must arrive no later than 30 minutes after the scheduled start of class.

2. One course session may be compensated with a duplicate session at a future date if the course is 15 hours or more in length.

3. If a learner is absent for a 10 hour course, they must retake the whole course. No make up dates are allowed for coursers that are 15 hours or less in length.

4. The learner must complete Professional Development Evaluation Form.

5. The learner must meet the minimum attendance requirements for earning CEUs.

6. The Chief Education Officer evaluates the submission materials, Professional Development Evaluation Form, and attendance report to ensure all criteria have been met. The Chief Education Officer then notifies the learner via email as to whether CEUs have been earned
